NAIROBI, July 24 (Xinhua) -- Kenya target to get it right on first attempt when they head to Johannesburg, next week for the 2021 Africa Women's Rugby World Cup qualifiers.

"Credit to the girls, they have worked hard to reach here. But it is not over because we have one final hurdle to jump to be able to make our first show at the World Cup," said head coach Felix Oloo on Wednesday in Nairobi.

The four team tournament, will see Kenya who were crowned at Elgon Cup a fortnight ago, tackle hosts South Africa, Uganda and Madagascar in a winner-take-it-all manner to secure the ticket to the World Cup set for New Zealand in 2021.

The second best team will play a match against a selected team from South America where the winner will join the global repechage tournament, the venue of which will be announced in 2020.

"Despite all the challenges we have encountered, our job starts in August, because we are not there yet," Oloo said.

Kenya launches its World Cup campaign against Madagascar on August 9 before taking on Uganda on August 13, a team they beat in Elgon Cup 79-19 over two legs, and wind up the hunt with a big shot at South Africa on August 17.

Kenya team has moved to camp after taking a one-week recess since returning from Kampala.

"It's not hard work to polish up the team and look at those departments that need to be strengthened," Oloo said.

At the same time, Kenya men's rugby team nicknamed Simbas will head to Lusaka, Zambia for the 2019 Victoria Cup against their hosts on Saturday and play their second match against Zimbabwe away in Harare on August 3.

The 2019 Victoria Cup features four teams - Kenya, Uganda, Zambia and Zimbabwe.
