WASHINGTON, Oct. 11 (Xinhua) -- America's global image today is complicated, as many have expressed frustration about its behavior in international affairs and showed little confidence in U.S. President Donald Trump, said a leading U.S. research center Tuesday.

The survey by Pew Research Center which involved 25 nations showed that about 37 percent of respondents believe the United States is doing less to help address the world's major problems than it used to, while 34 percent said it has been doing the same.

Meanwhile, about 70 percent of people said the United States does not consider the interests of other countries when making foreign policy decisions, according to the poll which surveyed more than 26,000 people.

Around 70 percent lack confidence in Trump to do the right thing regarding world affairs, said Pew, a nonpartisan American fact tank based in Washington.

It showed an international concern about America's role in the world affairs, said Kristen Bialik, a research assistant at Pew Research Center, in a recent report released on its website.

Bialik noted that views shifted most notably in France, Germany, Poland, Spain and Britain, which have been surveyed since 2008.

Among these five countries, about 57 percent of people now say the U.S. government does not protect people's freedom. While in 2013, about 76 percent across these nations said the United States respected the individual liberties of its people.

It is also noticeable that people around the world continue to give the United States favorable ratings, with about 50 percent holding a favorable view and 43 percent turning their thumbs down.
